On May 18, 2004, it was announced that stun masterswould be used by all patrol officers giving themanother non-lethal weapon to fight crime. ChiefWhite recommended the purchase of nearly1,100 taser guns, which cost about $1 million.taser stun guns are utilized in 4,300 police departmentsacross the country.
